I decided to test Pinboard export & import.

The good news: exporting the bookmarks in the xml format, deleting all bookmarks from the service, logging out and in then importing from the saved file, then logging out and in again works as-expected.

No indication that they'll ever be archived, provide full text search, but that's a hurdle for later.
